Welcome to Conflict(ed), the archive of the official blog for the Peace, War, & Social Conflict Section of the American Sociological Association.
We created this blog as a forum, designed to facilitate discussion among the section members, experts in the field, and practitioners. Scholarly work and lifestyle often foster intellectual isolation, which is mitigated by academic and professional conferences. The COVID-19 reality took that away from us. We suggested this blog as a way for us as a community to exchange ideas, make our work seen, and learn from others. The field we cover is enormous and ever-changing. There is always something new to learn.
We want to hear your voice. We want to know what you are working on, what YOU think is important and meaningful. This blog is the place for us to have those discussions and more. Please consider being part of the community and conversation. Blog posts are organized as short and concise articles (500-800 words), which makes them easier to consume but also easier for members to participate and contribute.
Conflict(ed) was the outcome of many dedicated scholars and we would like to thank them all. The blog is not limited to section members and encourages broad conversation. Please consider sharing our posts on social media to increase our visibility.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ori Swed, Texas Tech University
