Promoting Veterans' Health Through Virtual Reality
How can new technologies contribute to flourishing and better mental health outcomes?
This project explores the transformative potential of virtual reality (VR) technology in supporting the mental health and recovery of military veterans. By immersing individuals in controlled, therapeutic virtual environments, VR offers innovative tools for addressing trauma-related conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Drawing on a growing body of clinical and interdisciplinary research, the project investigates how VR-based interventions can enhance traditional treatments by increasing engagement, tailoring exposure therapy, and fostering emotional regulation. Our focus lies in evaluating current scientific findings, identifying best practices, and exploring the integration of VR into veteran healthcare systems. Ultimately, the project aims to contribute to the development of effective, accessible, and scalable solutions that improve the lives of those who have served.
